This prototype is an in-depth exploration into the interlaced structure that creates a mesh.
Through VR sculpting and iterative loops between AI 3D model generation and re-projection, I’ve created a pipeline for destroying mesh structure. By re-injecting the mesh (generated from an image with a diffusion model) with VR sculpted forms, I take back control, and achieve stark aesthetics, evoking the feeling of corrupted files and human injury.
My subject, the human cadaver, is pulled into the simulation, unifying organic with machine, and raising critical questions about the disappearance of human creativity with the accelerating domination of artificial intelligence.
Like all my work, everything returns to play. By treating the mesh like plasticine, I develop an intimate relationship with it’s flexible, impermanent nature.
