Role

For this student group project, I acted as Project Manager, Technical Director, and Lead Compositor. I also helped with creating layouts, animation, and voice acting. I was in charge of scheduling, delegating workloads, and developing the pipeline for production.

Project Management

I managed production progress for a team of 11 artists. We used Notion to track layouts and scene progress. I ensured we stayed on schedule and handled conflict resolution within the team.

Rigging Breakdown

My magnum opus of the project was definitely Beep's rig. I took advantage of ToonBoom’s MasterController tools because the character had a very volumetric head. It was necessary to use many head positions (47 to be exact). This helped keep the character always on-model. This is important for a character like Beep, who is a robot and does not use a lot of squash and stretch.

Compositing Documentation and Guides

Several of my teammates had never composited in Toon Boom before. I created a detailed guide and pre-made node setups to streamline the process. I also led an in-person workshop to help them get started.
